Farewell Family Truckster!

God has really blessed us since I lost my job in August of last year! One of the blessings was this ’93 Plymouth Grand Voyager with red leather interior and wood grain package! I say “blessed” because it really has been a huge blessing for several reasons even though it was not much to look at going down the road.

  1. We found it at just the right time! We really needed to sell our Suburban to save on fuel economy and make a little extra on the sale. We sold the Suburban and we were  down to one vehicle for a while before we found the van. God helped us every step of the way! Amazing!
  2. It is paid for! We will really struggle to buy any car in the future unless we can pay cash for it. One of the reasons we have been able to weather this financial storm over the last several months is that we haven’t had a car payment.
  3. We sold our Suburban to pay for a new roof on our house. We needed a new roof put on our house if we were going to have any chance of selling it any time soon. God multiplied the monies from the sale of that Suburban to pay for shingles and labor, plus we were able to pay cash for this van!
  4. We were the second owner! The guy we bought it from was actually kind of teary when we drove away from his house! He kept every repair slip and maintenance record from the day he drove it off the lot brand new in ’93. There was even a picture of him shaking hands with the dealer the day he purchased it.
  5. We were able to sell it to someone who needed good reliable transportation. A dear friend of ours has a family member that really needed new, safe transportation. We were able to buy another car (with cash!) and able to take payments on it to help them out. Another good reason why buying vehicles with cash is really cool!

We are really excited to see what God is going to do next to help us find our next ministry assignment. This van, “Woody” is just another example of God showing us His grace every step of the way. We are going to have so many great stories of God’s provision that our boys are going to be able to tell to our grandchildren–way cool!
